It’s thrilling stuff – even if it’s not as immersive as PS5 launch title Astro's Playroom was. The controller rumbles and erupts during parts of the game - from wall-running to firing various guns via haptic feedback being triggered – so you can actually feel it all through your fingers. The game delivers a lot of background detail and sense of scale with absolute ease and largely without any sign of the hardware creaking. It's hard to imagine how a previous Platstation generation could cope with this much on the screen as you go zipping around worlds, and hopping through planets. It's colourful, packed with wonderful characters and creations, and really does showcase the best of what the PS5 can offer. Is it actually any good as a game? In a word, yes.Īnd in a few more words? The game looks stunning with worlds seeming to stretch into the distance thanks to the PS5's graphic capabilities. Clank finds a one-armed female Lombax called Rivet leading a resistance against now Emperor Nefarious (he got a promotion) in the alternate dimension he ends up in, meaning it's all systems go for a tearful reunion later on.Įnough of all that plot stuff. Well, as if that's not enough, the game's also about Ratchet discovering he's not actually the last of his Lombax race. I can feel my heartstrings being tugged already. Ratchet and Clank’s storyline sees the universe expanded out from a franchise that's nearing 20 years old.
